The Southeast Maternity Care Program enjoys partnerships with a variety of delivering health care professionals – physicians or nurse midwives licensed in Alabama who are qualified to offer the best possible care for you before, during, and after the birth of your baby.

If you do not have insurance or other means of payment, we can help you apply for assistance from Medicaid. If you qualify, Medicaid will help pay for the cost of your prenatal care and the delivery of your baby. After your baby is born, you and your baby also are eligible for routine postpartum care for 60 days (eight weeks), including parenting classes, newborn care and infant health classes.

If you are on Medicaid and live in Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry or Houston County, you are eligible for care through the Southeast Alabama Maternity Care Program. Residents of other counties must apply for care from the Medicaid maternity care program for your county.

To apply, contact a member of our staff or you may also call Medicaid toll-free at 1-800-362-1504.
